Parish Registration

Every Catholic should be registered.
New parishioners are asked to stop in the rectory following Mass

on Sunday to register.
If you are not on our mailing list, you probably are not registered.

Liturgy of the Word for Children

Takes place during the 9:00 am Mass and the 10:30 am Mass from September through June, and at the 10:30 am Mass during the summer months.  Children in grades 1 through 4 are the focus of this celebration of the Word of God.  Children of those ages (6 through 11) should be participating in the celebration of the Mass every Sunday, but often the Readings and the homily are beyond their understanding.  The Directory for Masses with Children, one of the post Vatican II documents on the Liturgy, encourages the practice of calling children from the assembly and taking them to a suitable place to celebrate the Word of God on their own level.  The children are called forth after the Opening Prayer and return to their families after the Prayer of the Faithful.  All children of the parish who are of these ages are welcome to participate in the Liturgy of the Word for Children at these Masses each Sunday.

Babysitting

Babysitting is held every Sunday of the year, except Christmas and Easter, during the 10:30 am Mass in Room 1 of the school building.  One adult and several 6th grade students supervise the toddlers in unstructured play.  Children between the ages of 1 year and 5 years are eligible for this service.  Bring your child to Room 1 any Sunday at 10:20 am or later, to sign them in.

Editor's Notes

We have a new email address for announcements: stpiusbulletin@hotmail.com

We do require that announcements be typed or submitted on computer. In today's age of technology, we are unable to process handwritten announcements. Reminder: Deadline for announcements is Sunday prior to inclusion. And we do reserve the right to edit, shorten, or otherwise adapt the announcement to the size available in our bulletin.

Registering Names for Sick and Deceased

We are happy to publish in the Sunday bulletin the names of parishioners or their family who are seriously ill or have recently died.  Please call the rectory to insert or delete a name
on the list.
